چکیده
Sputum.?Eosinophils were first noted in the sputum of asthmatics in 1889 by Yon Muller and by Gollasch. In 1892 Aranson and Phillip found that 66 per cent of the cells in the sputum of a patient with asthma were 'eosinophiles. Weiss (1891), Lewy (1900), Heineke and Deutschmann (1906), and Yon Strumpell (1908) found eosinophiles in the sputum in cases other than asthma and considered that the presence of eosinophiles in sputum was not specific for asthma. Blood.?Fink (1890), Neusser (1892), Mandybur (1892), and Von Noorden (1892) found that at the time of the attacks there was

The Role of Spirometry in the Diagnosis of Cough Variant Asthma in Children Aged 5 to 15 Years
Background Cough variant Asthma (CVA) is defined as chronic cough without wheezing, and may be precursor of typical asthma. Thus, the diagnosis of CVA and early intervention can partly inhibit asthma progression. This study aimed to evaluate the role of spirometry in diagniosis of Cough variant Asthma in Iranian Children. Background Cough variant asthma (CVA) is a chronic or recurrent cough without wheezing accompanied by bronchial hyper-responsiveness and eosinophilic inflammation of the airways. This study aimed to evaluate the validity of spirometry in the diagnosis of CVA, as well as determining the specificity and sensitivity of spirometry parameters in CVA. Materials and Methods This descriptive observat...

They found that air trapping and mosaic attenuation were the most common lung HRCT findings. Also they divided patients in different clinical entities according to the lung HRCT findings (Bronchiolitis Oblitrans, pulmonary fi...
